The Reckless Renegade FREE Hat Pattern!

Every year I enjoy giving back to those in need. I absolutely LOVE being able to brighten someone's day. Because lets face it, life can be pretty crappy at times. I have to say, I am incredibly lucky to
have the things I have. In all honesty, I don't deserve any of it. So I am thankful every single day to have my health, my family, my home. Unfortunately, not everyone is so blessed. Therefore my goal every year is to create something with crochet that will help others.

Every year I crochet hats. LOTS of hats. I'm talking as many hats as my old, decrepit hands can make. They're all for my Hats for the Homeless Project (more info and the end of this post.) I try to do at least one per day. Some days I make that goal, other days I fail miserably. Towards the end of the year (usually around Thanksgiving) I take all the hats I've made and head for the local shelters. Hand delivering each hat to someone is my absolutely FAVORITE part of this entire project!! To be the person that puts a smile on someone's face is simply magical. I hope to continue this tradition every year as long as I have arms to create.

With that said, I want to offer you all one of the main patterns I use for these hats. Since I make so many I need something that is simple and super quick. So, I came up with this nifty pattern so I can whip them up in no time. Seriously y'all, these take me about 30 minutes to crochet.

So, without further ado, here is my Reckless Renegade Hat Pattern.

  1. LOVE this pattern. With three kids all over, it took me a bit longer, but it worked up very nicely.
